Duel of actors between Samuel L. Jackson and a very sexy (due to her role) Christina Ricci. Sex, drugs and loads of blues. Very interesting and unknown (for us) film.

Duelo de actores entre Samuel L. Jackson y una muy sexy (por el papel) Christina Ricci. Sexo, drogas y mucho blues. Muy interesante y desconocida (para nosotros) película.

Glass

I think I was expecting too much of this film. Strongly like both Willis and Jackson’s characters, dark, very human and unpredictable. There is a story behind both, there is depth. Did not enjoy that much McAvoy’s role. It seems too forced into the fight between the first two nemesis… 

Creo que estaba esperando demasiado de esta película. Me han gustado mucho los papeles de Willis y Jackson, oscuros, humanos e impredecibles. Hay una historia detrás de ambos, profundidad. No me ha gustado mucho el personaje de McAvoy. Parece muy forzada su entrada en la lucha entre las dos némesis originales…

Awesome! So much more than a simple sequel. Nothing to do with Peter Jackson’s one. Dark and serious. Classic movies about Vietnam and Jurassic Park meet here. Perfectly directed (movie’s rythm is good as hell) by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (we will follow his work now) with amazing visual efects. Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman and John C. Really at their best.

¡Alucinante! Mucho mas que una simple secuela. Nada que ver con la de Peter Jackson. Oscura y muy seria. Una mezcla entre las clásicas películas de Vietnam y Jurassic Park. Perfectamente dirigida (menudo ritmo tiene esta cinta) por Jordan Vogt-Roberts (seguiremos sus pasos) con efectos especiales fantásticos.

Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman y John C. Reilly como en sus viejos (y mejores) tiempos.

 

The legend of Tarzan

I started watching this movie trying to erase the memories I had of Christopher Lambert in “Greystoke: the legend of Tarzan, Lord of the apes”, and although the film is entertaining it does not live to my expectations. Much better effects, politics, money involved, love, etc but nothing as how the 1984 movie touched me…

Empecé viendo esta película intentando borrar de mi memoria a Christopher Lambert en “Greystoke: la leyenda de Tarzán, rey de los monos” y, aunque la cinta es entretenida, no llegó a mis expectativas. Muchos mejores efectos, política, dinero de por medio, amor, etc., pero nada como me conmovió la película de 1984…

The hateful eight

There is certain “I don´t know what” that atracts people (including myself) to watch Quentin´s films time after time. Django took a while to sink into me, but it did. Tarantino is very pretentious, but the dialogues, music, backgrounds, atrezzo and the fact that he (like no other) brings actors back from the death (artistically speaking) is certainly a huge plus. This is a superb Tarantino movie, where you almost know what is gonna happen but get blown away anyway…

Hay un cierto “no se que” que atrae gente (y me incluyo) a ver las peliculas de Tarantino una y otra vez. Con Django tardé un poco, pero al final entro en mi. Tarantino es un tio pretencioso, pero los dialogos, la musica, los decorados, el atrezzo y el hecho de que él (mas que ningun otro) devuelve actores a la vida (artisticamente hablando) es un plus enorme. Esta es una fantastica “Tarantino peli”, donde casi sabes que pasa, pero te termina asombrando.
